Careers in Police Through Indian Police Service Exam

Careers in Police is also called career in law enforcement where young men and women join the police as police officers. To start career in police as Group A and Group B officer one must clear the three rounds of Indian Police Services (IPS) exam that is conducted once in every year. The IPS examination is conducted in three stages. The first consists of objective test called Preliminary examination. Candidates who clear this sits for written test called the Main exam. This is followed by an interview. Candidates who clear the IPS then joins the cadre in the any one of the Indian state and start their police jobs in India.

You can join Gazetted Police Officer jobs once you clear the IPS and can also join Indian Police as Non-Gazetted officer. In this IPS is not required but it has other requirements of qualification, written examination, age limit and physical test.
